Understanding your child and enabling meaningful change

Why consider an Inclusive Psychology assessment?

As a parent you want your child to achieve their best in the classroom, but you also want so much more for them! Inclusive Psychology assessments help you and your child’s school better understand their learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs.

  • Have you noticed your child struggle with homework and are concerned they are falling behind their peers?

  • Are you worried that your child is not enjoying school, feels anxious, or finds it difficult to make friends?

  • Do teachers comment that your child is easily distracted, out of their seat, and does not get on with their work?

  • Do you feel like you don’t understand your child’s behaviour?

  • Do you want your child to be a happier, more confident and engaged learner who feels understood and valued?

Through an assessment with Bahrain Inclusive Psychology you can learn about your child’s individual strengths and their specific additional educational needs. By working collaboratively with parents, school staff and, of course, children themselves I can help you form a positive and meaningful action plan so that your child can start to enjoy learning, know what they are good at, and feel calmer and happier.

Why have an assessment with me?

I’m am a British registered Educational Psychologist with a passion for inclusion. I truly believe that children can achieve so much more when we take the time to understand their skills, motivations, relationships and experiences as a learner.

I have worked in many schools, and with hundreds of parents, teachers and children. I know that every child, family and classroom is unique and focus on building a flexible plan that will truly allow for positive changes. I take the time to understand how a child can be different in each context and always take a holistic approach. I love talking to children and am always curious to hear what is most important to them. I want all children to thrive, enjoy going to school, and reach their potential.

Through my training I have the specific knowledge and tools to deeply understand your child’s needs. As an international school child myself I understand the context that your children are growing in. As a Mum to three delightfully different children, I can understand what is important to you as parents.

What does an Inclusive Psychology assessment involve?

Before starting an assessment, I want to hear from you about your concerns for your child and what they are like at home. Assessments usually take place at school and are arranged with your child's teachers.

Assessments are personalised to your child’s area of need, age and ability. This may mean:

  • Watching your child while they learn and play

  • Finding out what your child thinks, feels and wants by listening to them

  • Exploring your child’s skills through standardised assessment tasks

  • Talking with school staff about their views on your child’s needs

Through a collaborative conversation with family and school staff, we can agree a positive and meaningful action plan which will make a real difference to your child. Afterwards, a summary of the assessment will be shared as a report.
